"It Gets Better"

Fuck that noise.

We need to be honest.
We need to say,

"Sometimes, it gets worse."

You can make good decisions in battle,
And still lose the day.

You can win most of the battles,
And still lose the war.

You can pray and have faith,
And still you will be tested.

You can pass these tests,
And still not find peace.

What I'm trying
To say is:

Accept that progress
Is not a straight line.

Accept that the easy path
Isn't worth shit.

Accept that sometimes,
A forest fire is the beginning
Of new growth.

Accept that the darkness
Is one of the things that
Makes us human.

Accept that She has a plan,
And that you don't need to
Know it to follow it.

Know this:

All fear is temporary.
Nothing easy is valuable.
A shark that stops swimming drowns.

And especially know this:

Miracles DO fucking happen.
